Websites for Chicagoland small businesses

I help local businesses get set up right online.

A website that loads fast on phones, shows up when people nearby search, and lets customers book and pay without calling. I build it, keep it running, and you get back to work.

I'll make a free mockup of your new site first. If you don't like it, that's the end of it.

Real sites you can go look at

Full disclosure: none of these is a paying client yet. They're products I helped start or built myself, and all four are live.

BEFORERepit's old homepage: a centered headline and a small waitlist box over a dim photo
AFTERRepit's new homepage: a large left-aligned headline, a short explanation and a bigger sign-up box

Repit Volleyball repitvolleyball.com

A volleyball training app. I'm on its founding team and rebuilt its homepage in October 2026.

  • Previews work. The old page was blank until its code loaded, so a link sent by text or posted online showed nothing. Now the words and a preview image are there from the start.
  • Lighter on phones. The app pictures went from 4 MB to 565 KB and show the real app instead of stock photos.
  • Only true claims. A feature the app didn't have came off the page.

BUILT NEWEndline HQ's homepage: the headline 'Player requirements. Outstanding balances. The next step.' and an email box to open a demo club

Endline HQ endlinehq.com

Software for youth volleyball clubs. It's my own product, in early access.

  • Built from scratch. The website and the app behind it: rosters, player requirements, team offers and payments.
  • Fast on phones. It scored 100 on Google's phone speed test when I checked in October 2026, and the whole page is about 440 KB.
  • Try it, don't just read about it. Visitors type their email and get their own demo club with sample data.

BUILT NEWSteady with ADHD's homepage: the headline 'From scattered to steady.' next to a sign-up box for a free 3-minute check

Steady with ADHD steadywithadhd.com

A program for adults with ADHD, created by a licensed therapist. I co-built it with him.

  • Website and phone app. The site, sign-up and the app where people work through lessons, tasks and a journal on the web and on their phone.
  • Built to bring people in. A free 3-minute check emails visitors their results, and people can ask for a therapy appointment right from the site.
  • Easy for everyone to use. It scored 100 for accessibility on Google's test when I checked in October 2026.

BUILT NEWKevin Barr's therapy page: the headline 'Adult ADHD Therapy in Colorado', a button to request an assessment and his photo

Therapy with Kevin steadywithadhd.com/therapy

The page for Kevin Barr's one-therapist practice in Fort Collins, Colorado, part of the Steady site.

  • Book without a phone call. People pick telehealth or in person, a day and a time, then send their details. Kevin follows up to confirm.
  • Answers up front. Fees, location, who it's for and his credentials are all on one page, so people know what to expect before they reach out.
  • Clear on what's what. It explains how therapy with Kevin differs from the Steady program, so nobody signs up for the wrong one.

What I build

What I can set up for you

Most businesses start with the website and add the rest later.

A website

Built for phones first, since that's where most of your customers are. Your hours, services, and phone number are easy to find, and it's set up so Google can show it to people nearby.

Online booking

Customers pick a time themselves and get a reminder before they show up. If you already use Square or Acuity, I'll hook that up. If not, I'll help you pick one.

Payments

Take deposits, send invoices, sell gift cards, or take orders online through Stripe. The money goes straight to your bank account. I never touch it.

Ongoing care

Hosting, updates, and small edits for one flat monthly fee. New hours or a price change? Text me and I'll take care of it.

1

I make a free mockup

I go through your current site and build a new version with your real info, so you can see what you'd actually be getting.

2

We talk for 20 minutes

You tell me what customers ask about most and what you'd change. I give you one price for the whole thing.

3

You're live in about two weeks

I take care of the domain, moving everything over, and setup. Then I walk you through it so you know how it all works.

Pricing

What it costs

One price for the build, then a flat monthly fee. You'll get the exact number after our 20-minute talk.

About me

Hi, I'm Jon.

I live in Forest Park, and by day I'm a senior software engineer at a fintech company. I've built websites and apps professionally for more than five years, since finishing a computer science degree at San Francisco State. Most of that has been in finance, where everything has to be secure, fast and easy to use, and I hold Front Counter sites to that same standard.

A lot of the local places I go to have websites that are hard to use on a phone, out of date, or missing basics like their hours. Some don't have one at all. I started Front Counter to help them get that sorted out.

I also build software for products I'm part of. I'm on the founding team of Repit Volleyball, I made Endline HQ for youth volleyball clubs, and I built Steady with ADHD with my cousin Kevin, a licensed therapist. You can see all of them above.

Front Counter is just me, so you deal with me directly. I answer my phone, and if something on your site needs changing, I change it.

You can also follow along on Instagram at @frontcounterweb.

Free mockup

Want to see what your site could look like?

Tell me where to find your business and I'll put together a free mockup with a private link. No website yet? Just give me your business name and I'll start from there.

I'll only use this to send you the mockup. No mailing list.
